If rappers like Future had appeal outside of Black America, they'd be a lot richer.

What about Master P? Figured he would be up there 2.

If Oprah doesn't know who you exist, then you're not famous. Period.
Ludacris was on Oprah, though.

Sigh. This is why there's no point bringing up logical points in this thread. Atlanta SAVED hip-hop from the dark ages. LOL

You can throw out any situation and say that "_____ wasn't on______, then they aren't that famous."

Lil Yachty was in a Target commercial, and has been in the game for over 20+ years like jay-z. Hell, he wasn't even born when Reasonable Doubt was released.

What!!

If they didn't make all that money from music, this it isn't so much their appeal as it is their business acumen. To drive the point home further, Eminem is the biggest selling rapper of all time, he sould be the richest, correct? Furthermore, Master P hasn't release a credible album since 1999, yet his one of the wealthiest rappers ever.

That list has to be incorrect !! Dr Dre was worth 700 million two years ago and Jay z also was at 600 million.

Dr Dre
Net worth : 900 million
Salary : $55,000,000

Than Where's Cube,Snoop & Eminem ? All 3 valued at 120 - 140 million

Ludacris, an Atlanta rapper, also plays stars in one of the biggest movie franchise of all time with Fast and Furious.

Artists make more from touring than they do from albums sales.

There doesn't have to be a perfect 1:1 correlation between fame and wealth. But an artist who has a paltry net worth--particularly an artist who is trying to become part of the commercial mainstream--says volumes about his worldwide popularity or lack thereof.

Most Atlanta-based rappers are only well-known among African American youth. New York rappers are institutions who have globalized the genre.
