Atlanta may have the bigger influence in Hip-Hop culture, I'll still go with NYC since people outside of the Hip-Hop culture recognize NY as a hip-hop city whereas if you ask a person who's not into hip-hop they'll probably identify Atalanta with coca-cola, Reality Tv, and Tyler Perry movies and being the capital of the south rather than just Hip-Hop.

I know Fabolous was from New York and I didn't hate him. But I like Ludacris and he's from Atlanta.
NY rap went under in the mid 2000s, but you still had 50 cent, Ja Rule, Jim Jones, Diddy, Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes

-Which city has the hottest artists

I'm asking which city is more famous for hip hop around the world. I figured it was an interesting question considering that the NY scene is past its prime while the same doesn't appear to be true for Atlanta's.
The fact that the entire genre was invented in New York gives it the edge even if Atlanta is far more happening today

Being invented in NYC means nothing. Chicago invented the skyscraper, but NYC won't genuflect to them as the skyscraper capital. Same logic.

Hip-hop's home is Atlanta.

Hip hop has more than one home. NYC, LA, Houston, Atl, Miami, Chicago are all hip hop epicenters. Some regions get more radio play. but these regions I listed have/had a major influence in hop today. And all can claim to be a home of hip hop in their own way.
