Yep, I was there when I was a kid and I always see the infomercials with Eric Estrada trying to pitch timeshares. I'm sure it's a great state, I just don't haven't explored it.

Jeez, what kind of culture is this?

That's what is so great about this thread. Like you, I would associate Mount Hood or the Columbia River Gorge with Oregon and Mount Ranier or the Olympics with Washington. But many people, especially those who have never traveled to a particular state, form their opinions in other ways and from other things. One thing is for sure, the OP needs to check out the Northwest and learn about what he/she is missing.

Oh I've been to the PacNW plenty of times. It's just that the first image I see when I think of Washington State is from movies. Sure, they're stupid movies bit they do a great job of capturing the beauty of the area. In 10 Things I Hate About You they show Mount Rainier a few times with the Seattle skyline in the foreground. Not a bad first image if you ask me.

Sheesh! Sorry to get you all mad!

The Ring 1/The Ring 2 are kind of stupid movies too - but they show a lot of pretty PNW scenery as well. Makes me want to go there. The Ring 2 does a nice display of Astoria that's for sure.
