I just did a city comparison because I love the Yosemite area, but I am shocked to see how bad the economic and crime stats are for Fresno. Shame.

Default Sacramento CA or fresno CA

Sac... is a mid-major large city as opposed to fresno being a ( small major city ) you really going to have a difficult time honestly comparing the two cities.

Sacramento is 25-30 percent gentrified
Fresno is 2 percent gentrified
60k vs 40k (cost of living)
1.7million vs .7 million(urban)
Its not apples vs apples

Fresno is focusing on lowering its unemployment rate and curbing crime.
Competing with sactown isn't a priority right now. Maybe in ten years, it'll put up a better fight. Fresno does have better access to nicer beach areas. That's one forgotten bonus.

But, yeah, sac wins easily, so close this thread. Bakersfield vs Fresno is a closer fight

Its shocking how behind the area is, but all signs are pointing upward.

Economy/jobs ,amenities, community pride, crime, and even air quality are up and will keep getting better

If you want to try CA for as cheap as possible, Fresno is there for you.
