Which has the most and better hospitals, and which would offer the best pay/cost of living for a physician?

Houston definitely has the better hospitals.

I don't know which city pays it's physicians more but cost of living is lower in Houston as well.

I don't know much about this topic but I always hear about Houston when it comes to the Medical field.

Houston. It has better hospitals, a lower COL, and a considerably less healthy customer base.

Miami would be better for a gerontologist.

I'm from Miami and I have also lived in Houston. There's no competition here, go with Houston.

In Houston you have more options and more area to move around, whereas Miami really isn't that big of a city like you'd imagine for a physician to practice his skills, there's so much competition there and if you don't speak Spanish you're probably screwed. Miami is more along the lines of plastic surgery of that sorts, whereas Houston is a wide array of fields and although there is competition Houston has a much lower cost of living and a much higher paycheck according to how much you make-and-waste.

I agree with most here except if we were talking plastic surgery, then i think the market in Miami would be better.
