Chicago-->Minneapolis
People in Minneapolis barely even think about Chicago. People here look up to NYC and San Francisco, and see Seattle, Portland, Denver and Austin as peers. Minneapolis and Denver in particular are extremely similar cities.

Seattle's downtown is much more vibrant than Minneapolis' downtown. I think that's an area where Minneapolis is sorely lacking.

Yeah, Minneapolis has been 15 years behind Seattle in terms of urban development since the '90s. A big part of it is that Minneapolis is a lot cheaper so development pressures aren't nearly as strong.

The Chicago-Minneapolis comparison wasn't a good one. Chicago is definitely Milwaukee's "big sister."

Similar climates, similar built environment, similar maritime culture though more abundant in Tampa as it is on the Bay and close to the Gulf.
