Chicago winters. Doesn't even snow that much from what I understand. The older I get the less tolerant I am with the heat/humidity and bugs. Although I've been in Dallas in early April, back in 2016. Picture perfect weather. Clear skies and dry.

Now if you're comparing upstate NY/Boston winters to Dallas summers, might be a different story lol.

Chicago doesn't get nearly as much snow as Buffalo, nor does it get nearly as cold as Minneapolis.
Certainly not the most extreme winter example the OP could have picked.
Having lived in both Texas and north of Chicago near the lake, Texas summers do seem more extreme with the heat than Chicago is with the cold and snow.

Highly doubt it, but even if Chicago was more vibrant, it would simply be because it's a more walkable city.

No one should expect Chicago core streets to be busier in Winter. One because MOST of its millions of tourist come in summer and non-winter months. But street-view gives some scenes differing times of dab generally not the busiest. But they still give aspects of streets are still open in winter .... just will have more in the warmer months.

I'm sorry, but I find the impression people have of Chicago winters laughable. And I would say many of my fellow Chicagoans feel the same way. Sorry, but winter is just not that difficult here. Snow is manageable and many days the temperature is quite pleasant.

Yeah ... not sure what daddy is doing? But the little girl is getting away. Not something by the street you want to happen with moving traffic right there....
