Miami - International city, South Beach, Beautiful people, Beautiful homes and cars and scenery. Lots of job oportunities, lots of international diversity.
I am not saying San Diego doesn't have some of this stuff but to me Miami beats out SD on the above things I mentioned.

Well Miami wins out by far. Better beaches, more to do, tropical climate, better looking women. The only thing I don't like about Miami is South Beach, while the only things I like about San Diego are the zoo and Coronado.
Although San Diego weather is way better than Florida and it's more interesting geologically (mountains, canyons) I'd still choose Miami. It's more diverse and interesting IMO and the cost of living is cheaper. Florida is also a tax free state as opposed to the heavily taxing CA. But if you are looking for a high paying job especially in Biotech or IT I think San Diego is your better option.

I lived in Miami for a short while, and found the people to be unfriendly and prejudice(if you're not hispanic/cuban and a non-spanish speaker, you might run in to some difficulties ), though the tropical scenery was beautiful. However, there were a lot of bad neighborhoods, and some of the worst drivers on the planet lol. Which is why i'm moving to San Diego myself, because i hear the people are a bit nicer, less humid, better geography, not as many bad neighborhoods, etc. While i have a love/hate relationship with Miami, i haven't been to SD yet, so i can't say for sure. (If you do go to Miami go to the Dolphin mall, you won't be dissapointed!!! )
San Diego. Better weather, better topography, more varied climate, more diverse, cleaner, safer, not as poor, no hurricanes, sunnier.
Miami is my fourth favorite city after LA, then NYC, SD, and then Miami. However, SD is better in my opinion for what I'm looking for. If you plan on moving, you should tell us what you are interested in. The reason most move to Miami is for warm weather, nice beaches, if they are old, if they are really young and love partying, a second home, or an alternative to a place like SoCal. Miami may be where I eventually move because I like warm weather (yes I realize NYC winters are cold, but summers are warm) and it's cheaper. I also speak, but I don't look like I do at all.

Go Green Wave!!Well they are Completely different in culture, climate, topography, etc. You really have to go to experience each area. They are VASTLY different!!What are you looking for??
Uhh, I hate to break it to you, but Miami isn't cheap.
Incomes in San Diego are actually more in line with the cost of living than in Miami. The median HOUSEHOLD income in Miami is not even $24,000, but the median home price in Miami is more than $400,000.
That said, I would choose Miami. Luckily those who own their own businesses do not have to worry so much about the low incomes of Miami. I also have a strong support system, as I am from there, and feel welcome every time I return back. The water temperature and air temperature blow San Diego out of the water. There's really not a week out of the year in SD that you can go without a sweater at some point. There's tons more to do in Miami than SD. The people are almost more down to earth, as well.
Miami anyday. The latin flavor, the food, clear water in beaches, love the art deco architecture, Miami Beach, the Keyes, warm temps, international flair, attractive and diverse population, great music scene, much better nightlife, close proximity to the caribbean.
For what San Diego has to offer it just doesn't justify the outrageous real estate prices imo. Its pretty and sunny but I was not impressed.
