No, you didn't forget. There aren't many Thai in Minneapolis. This list is by place of birth, not nationality. Almost all of those people born in Thailand that live in Minneapolis are Hmong that were born in Refugee camps in Thailand. Same thing with almost all of the people born in Kenya in Minneapolis. All but a few are Somalis that were born in Refugee camps in Kenya.

Lutheran Social Services, and the Lutheran church in general, has always been very active in Refugee resettlement, and Lutherans are the most common religion in the Upper Midwest.

Those are also Iraqi Christians (Chaldeans) in Metro Detroit. Also that Lebanese population in which Detroit is #2 only a couple thousand below LA. I'm certain is some mixed in Iraqi nationals that had to pose as Lebanese or enter through Lebanon rather than Iraqi directly. When I worked in that area in 2013 I met Iraqi's who told me this.

I created another thread for ancestries. Here are the top 10 MSAs for Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac. Detroit by far has the most, then San Diego and Chicago are in the 2nd tier (big drop) - then there's a big drop after that for everyone else.

1. Detroit: 34,194 people
2. San Diego: 12,929
3. Chicago: 11,833
4. Modesto, CA: 6294
5. San Jose: 3664
6. Los Angeles: 2881
7. Phoenix: 2416
8. New York: 1085
9. Riverside, CA: 786
10. San Francisco: 566

The South Coast includes Fall River, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Freetown, New Bedford, Somerset, Westport and Acushnet.

The South Coast is home to a very large Portuguese population, specifically from the Azores. Ponta Degala in the Azores is the twin city of Fall River. Anthony Bourdain visited Fall River prior to his No Reservations episodes where he visited the Azores. Really along route 6 one can find plenty of Portuguese restaurants and bakeries. Fall River was a fun place back in the summer of 2016 when Portugal won the UEFA Euro tournament.
Agreed, south coast is the correct way to refer to that region.

I see Houston and Dallas both passed Chicago in foreign born Mexican population. Chicago went from number 2 to number 4.

In terms of well distributed diversity (not just strength in one region).

Tier 1 - NYC
Tier 2 - LA and DC
Tier 3 - Miami, Chicago, Boston, Bay Area

Everyone else in lower tiers.

Yes, though the difference between #2 and #4 is only 8500 people. Seeing as how these are estimates, numbers 2 through 4 could be in any order really.

Replace Miami with Houston and Id be inclined to agree. You say "well distributed diversity" and thats precisely what Miami doesnt have. Houston on the other hand does.

This one stands out. Houston admittedly doesn't have a lot of Europeans, but we do have a lot of people from the UK. Id be willing to bet most of these are oil workers from Scotland.

I would not replace Miami, but based on the totals on page 2 it looks like Houston is competitive with Miami, Boston and Chicago based on totals and how many times it shows up in the top 5.
