I like Omaha, but city leaders need to save what's left of old architecture, instead of tearing it down.

Kansas City's downtown recently got two new high-rise residential towers, but outside the Power & Light District, it's more like Milwaukee's than Omaha's when it comes to keeping old buildings around.
One of those old buildings, a Gothic Revival tower that housed the local offices of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company when it was built in 1911, got trashed in a 1970s "modernization" that covered everything in white stucco. On my next visit, I need to see what the fate of this structure has been since then.
