I actually enjoy all three. MSP is a very clean, safe, polished city, with great healthcare and public education.. Some good eats, too. For the average socioeconomic American, I'd go with MSP. But, Boston/Greater Boston offers a lot more. You just have to pay for it.
Side note, Providence is essentially a far reaching suburb of Boston..Even connected via the commuter rail. That's the beauty of the area.
