Both these smaller cities have similar names and are of a similar distance from D.C. Just in opposite directions. I'm wondering which is the best overall. Some criteria to consider.

1. Dowtown
2. Arhcitecture
3. Safety
4. Location
5. SFH
6. School quality
7. Commute
8. Walkability
9. Where would you rather live?

Growing up in Northern Virginia, people used to call Fredericksburg this. They also used to call Spotsylvania, Spotsytucky

What's not accurate? He didn't give any specifics; he just said one city wins this matchup in his eyes.

I'm talking about the "Fredneck" statement.

Eh, I didn't make too much of that. Demographically I don't think they're all that different from each other.

1. Dowtown - Frederick
2. Arhcitecture - Both (colonial influences)
3. Safety - Frederick
4. Location - Frederick (about an hour drive to Baltimore or Washington D.C, short commute to the mountains.)
5. SFH - Both
6. School quality - Fredericksburg
7. Commute - Both
8. Walkability - Both (most errands require a car.)

9. Where would you rather live?

Pros: I pick Frederick because it's an up-and-coming city and the growth of diversity. A bedroom community with many commuting options to Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Northern Virginia.

Cons: The high taxes—both state and local.
