I thought it would be closer. Minneapolis is far and away the most overrated city on these forums. LOL Vancouver in a landslide. But there are many cities in the USA way more affordable that haven't been bought out by China's super rich.
NYC, SF, Seattle and any Canadian City are by far the most praised on here. Minneapolis gets credit, but definitely isn’t overrated (On here or in real life).

Vancouver is much closer to the Seattle, Denver and MSP tier than it is to Toronto, Chicago, NYC or Mexico City. Boston is also definitely ahead of Vancouver.

One is super cold for 6 + months of the year and is not surrounded by mountains.
Who cares? Mountains are a plus but they don’t make a city

Much to the dismay of City Data nerds. Way, way more people care about climate and natural scenery than number of high rises, number of fortune 500 companies, Vacancy rates, or whatever silly stats you see talked about in this little world LOL

This is why its so hard to take this forum serious. How does Minneapolis compare with America's premier city in the Rocky mountains, America's premier city in the Pacific Northwest, and one of America's most historically significant cities?
I was thinking is he serious?Boston with all its architecture, education, research, wealth history culture?Vancouver may be more live-able but hardly comparable with Boston
There is an unwritten sequence of important cities in the US. Most understand this sequence. The problem with sites like this is some have decided their opinions overcome this sequence, with little evidence to support their claims, other than pure homerism or lack of any situational understanding of where their city stands. It is kind of sad, yet, provides a nice debate that can settle things pretty quickly.

Chicago and Toronto are not In same tier as NYC or Mexico City - they’re much, much closer to the SF/Boston/Philly/DC/Montreal tier. As for Vancouver, I’d say it’s about equidistant from the Seattle/Denver/Minneapolis tier and the Boston/SF/Philly/DC/Montreal tier.

That would go to either Portland or Austin. Anyway, in your opinion, how is Minneapolis overrated? I find it funny that someone from freakin Reno, NV refers to other cities as overrated.

Boston is on another level than Minneapolis; Seattle has pulled away; Denver and Minneapolis compare well.
How can anyone take you serious when are referring to places as the "premier city"? Denver is "premier" because it's the only city for several hundred miles.

I see that you hide your location in your profile but judging from your post history you are clearly one of CD's most adamant Minneapolis warriors. Sorry that I triggered you. I live in Reno because of its mild weather and proximity to Tahoe/California. No one ever talks about Reno to overrate it LOL. Tell me again why the Twin Cities are a world beater we don't hear enough about that place here..

Are you saying because a majority recognizes something that is universal, someone cannot dissent based on their personal preferences?
You say its homerism but according to your profile, you live within the same region.Maybe you are just taking it too personal.
You can debate something that is an opinion. You can debate it the opinion is not factualy sound but not when it comes to a matter of taste
