City of Pittsburgh is at 2 so far for 2019. Our homicide rate has consistently dropped each of the past several years. We would have had a VERY low rate last year had it not been for the aberration of the Tree of Life mass shooting that killed 11.
I often see different numbers reported on here. I work for the city police and will try to keep Pittsburgh updated. I think some post homicides that are in suburbs with Pittsburgh zip codes, too. Allegheny County has 130 different jurisdictions.
What a shame. I think if the city and county merge St. Louis will fall WAY down the list in terms of homicide rates. As it stands now St. Louis (city proper) has a few very violent neighborhoods while the county, for the most part, is NOT violent at all.
