Traveling to Austin?

"What do you do for a living?"

"Oh, i'm a dancer."

It's a deep south thing.

Houston has 65 strip clubs. Most of any city in US.

L.O.L. --The high ranking of Richmond and Norfolk, VA on the map and listing above, is very misleading. The state of Virginia requires pasties and bikini bottoms on dancers. The handful of clubs in both cities are pitch-dark inside, nearly empty most of the time, and basically "lame."

Just to further my point about Portland sorely missing from this poll, this list has 3 of the top 21 strip clubs in America being in Portland.

The only city in my area that even has strip clubs is Dayton and they have quite a few of them, some had been shut down for various violations.

LOL, sorry I didn't have time to vet and test all the polls on all the articles for accuracy. And yes- what's allowed in them varies quite a bit by jurisdiction. They're far from scientific, but the sum of the links I posted more than prove my point that Tampa had a name for strip clubs for good reason-not just on one list, but in all kind of national publications. Is it really that hard to believe that a city in central FL would be high up on the list? Sleaze is in the DNA down there..

As I mentioned earlier, PDX should absolutely be on the list as well. FWIW, Tampa has (or had) 30+ in the city limits, and is a little more than half the population of Portland. In fact, the per capita is second only to Portland, so both punch way above their weight class in that regard-though the PDX joints sound way more innocent-ish and fun than Tampa's. And of course, it's subjective, but the Thrillest list Vincent and I shared earlier does include Mary's- right next to Mons Venus in TPA.

LOL no kidding.
Is this a poll that any city really wants to win?

Portland's strip club culture nicely meshes with its dive bar culture. In my opinion, that gives them a "cultural" advantage.
