Come on out to Duluth! It is a wonderful place to visit and live. There is a lot to see and do. Lake Superior is currently frozen, but most months it is free from ice.
I’d love to even when Lake Superior is frozen which I would love to see. I just have a hard time convincing my spouse of the same what with limited vacation days and family in East Asia. I was considering a teaching stint there, but it wasn’t the right time, but I’ll get there eventually!
I reckon if that train from the Twin Cities happen, then I’d likely make the trip if one of us goes to the Twin Cities for a conference.
..Ok, to make it city vs city, what city or state doesn't intrigue you at all?
I think I have no feeling whatsoever for South Dakota. There's no real reason, I just don't know that much about South Dakota. There are hardly any cities in that state..
The places that intrigue me the most are Northern California, Central Nevada, North Dakota in a blizzard, Far Northern Minnesota, the Florida Keys, Far Northern Maine and Far Eastern Maine, the Mississippi Delta especially Rosedale/Greenville/Cleveland/Clarksdale and Mississippi from Brookhaven/McComb to the Louidiana border, Southern Louisiana.
The states that I have the least amount of interest in exploring are Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Rhode Island, Connecticut, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Massachusettes, Iowa, Oklahoma, both Dakotas, Wyoming.
While not the US, I would have to say Quebec City. The images of the walled city with narrow cobblestone streets I find very appealing and hope to visit one day. https://www.quebecregion.com/en/old-quebec/
For me: The City of Passaic in New Jersey. Its a smallish but very densely-populated satellite city of NYC that's mostly surrounded by older suburbs.
Even though its mostly a very poor and rundown city with a high immigrant population; it just looks like its filled with so much history and I can see it having so much potential in the distant future. I love the wide and open downtown.
I feel like I've lived there in my past life since my spirit just seems so connected to it. I also love the density of it; it just feels so warm and cozy.
If anybody familiar with NJ saw this post them they'd probably think I was nuts; since its not known to be a nice or alluring area at all in the eyes of most locals (for the most part).
Went to high school there. My parents were born and raised there. I worked my first job there at a summer camp. Many wonderful memories including seeing some great legends at the Capitol Theater.
Passaic has a lot of history but has definitely changed through the years.
