People from both cities like to brag about how green both of their cities are, but overall which do you think has the better inner city and suburban forest coverage? I realize both cities have dramatically different climates which can effect tree species.

Atlanta by mutiples. Seattle isn't forested except for greenbelts (hillsides, ravines) and parks.

Atlanta. Seattle is lush but Atlanta's on another level. Seattle would be best compared to Sacramento.

Atlanta has a thicker canopy throughout the city, but I'm generally more impressed with the groves and trees found in Seattle. The tall evergreens at Seward Park are amazing. I would say Portland, Oregon would be a better match in terms of overall tree cover.

Atlanta's canopy is more solid, spread out. There's more flora as well in Atlanta.

Atlanta. Evenly distributed rainfall all year long and it's very green and lush in the city and in the surrounding areas.

Seattle has that unfortunate dry season where things start to dry out and look brown...ugh.

True. But Atlanta also has a brown season, during winter with all those deep freezes (often worse than Seattle).
