Detroit.
To be blunt, I wasn’t expecting much. But the city that I saw was significantly different than the stereotypes. It was actually really cool. It very much had the same vibe Brooklyn had 10-15 years ago, only with better architecture. The biggest negative was the amount of construction going on, which intrigues me even more as I want to go back and explore what has changed.

NYC:

Even though I was only there for less than a day for a networking event a moth ago, I actually liked the city despite not doing any of the touristy stuff.

The one thing I liked about NYC is that I felt more at home there than in other place I've been to even more so at times than my own hometown.

I'm definitely trying to head up there again when I find the free time.

LA:

I'd like to visit it again. Definitely enjoyed the chilled out vibe and friendliness of the locals. Definitely, want to visit it again to see some of the other neighborhoods.

NYC (been there at least a dozen times)
Boston (also over a dozen times)
San Francisco (100+ times)
LA (Lived there, make it a point to visit once a season)
Portland (born there (Vancouver) and visit there often)
Seattle (10 or so visits)
Denver
Phoenix
Lincoln, NE
Kansas City
St. Louis
Pittsburgh
Philadelphia
Youngstown, OH
Washington DC
Atlanta
Baltimore
Portland ME
Portsmouth NH
Gloucester MA (my husband’s home town- not a major city but a historic city- been there dozens of times- love it!)
Newburyport MA
Venice FL

And lots and lots of smaller towns and cities along the way that I have only briefly passed through.

Honestly, other than a few Central Valley CA cow towns that I’ve passed through more times than I can count I can’t think of any city that had such a negative impression on me that I wouldn’t want to go back to explore it some more.

Want to visit again because I went when I was a kid and don't remember that much:

Seattle
New York
Memphis
Madison, WI
Rockford, IL
Des Moines
Baltimore
Philadelphia
Naples, FL
Orlando (we just went to Disney World, I don't even know if we saw the actual city, but I have a friend who lives there now)
Montreal
Toronto

Want to visit again because I've been there as an adult but only had a few hours and didn't get to really explore:

Sacramento
St. Louis
Cleveland
Pittsburgh
Peoria, IL
Santa Fe, NM (and it was at night so I couldn't see the adobe buildings in their true splendor)
Oklahoma City
Buffalo, NY

LA native. Been to all major cities on the west coast/east coast/Midwest. Despite having already been to NYC many many times, it never feels enough to me.
