Which cities have the best historic buildings with pyramid tops? Only talking about old buildings, so nothing after WWII era for this thread.

New York would win this very very easily so we can just leave it out.

Post pics from your city, and also tell us which cities you think are best.

I think Pittsburgh has two buildings which qualify, both great buildings, and they happen to be right next to each other.

Unfortunately, this thread may fall into the category of "skyline threads", on which this forum has been "holding off for awhile" for about a decade now.

But anyway before the thread gets shut down, I'm going to put in a shameless plug for Boston's Custom House Tower (32 floors, 496ft tall, neoclassical style, built in 1915) :

I really like that one, those old narrow buildings look so good.

Made me realize I missed a very good one for Pittsburgh-- should have included Allegheny County courthouse

Default Miami, Florida

Dade County Courthouse, is a historic courthouse located at 73 West Flagler Street in Miami, Florida. Constructed over four years (1925–28), it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on January 4, 1989.
The building is 361 feet tall with 28 floors. When it was built, it was the tallest building in Miami and in Florida. It was reputed to be the tallest building south of Baltimore at the time.

Agreed about Atlanta.

Seattle's Smith Tower was the tallest building in the West from 1914 to the mid-50s and is a good candidate.

I’ve always admired the Tower Life Building when in San Antonio, Texas. It was completed in 1929 just before the Crash, and tops out at over 400ft with 30 floors.

I can recall few other pre-WW2 pyramidal topped skyscrapers in the Southern US. A few with domes or “pagodas”/temples.

Since 1987 is technically “historical” to my kids, my top vote still goes to Atlanta’s One Atlantic Center (formerly the IBM Tower) at 50 floors and 820 feet. It even has a pagoda on top of its pyramid!

Another more modern tower with a Pyramid is the BNY Mellon Building in Philadelphia, 791 feet so a little shorter than the Atlanta tower

And in terms of pyramids would the Transamerica building count; very iconic
