Best+reasons:
Georgia: Beautiful scenery and wildlife, mild climate, and tons of people are friendly.
Florida: Lots of fun things to do, some people are nice.
Pennsylvania: Great tourist attractions, friendly people who are proud to be Americans
Worst+reasons:
Texas: Everyone there thinks there awesome and everyone else from other states are retards.
New York: Just do not go out on the streets at 2 o'clock in the morning.
California: Has tons of Douchebags who think they are "high-class" people, criminals, drug abuse, The good thing is it has some sweet beaches.
LOL so you're angry at other members for disliking your favorite states because of generalizations, and then you go on to make generalizations about states that you just don't like. Hypocritical much?

Oh and chill out. People can not like the South even if they know that the KKK has no presence there anymore. I much prefer the West to the South myself.

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! HEY! Just what kind of state do you think NY is?

IT. IS. NOT. ALL. NEW YORK CITY!!! Have you ever actually been to NY? Or did you just go to NYC and think, "Yep. This is the entirety of New York state right here boy howdy!"

The southern tier of upstate NY and surrounding areas are exactly like Pennsylvania. Most of the state is laid back and rural, made of farming communities and small towns. And heck, even some of the cities are not at all dangerous.

Yes people can be rude, but point me to a state where that NEVER happens. It doesn't exist.

As far as states full of rednecks, have you taken a good long look at the north lately? If any region is chock full of hick it's up there! And as far as the KKK, there's a town called Newark in upstate NY, look into it.

So no, not everybody up north thinks the south is all redneck and KKK, and frankly if they do, they are ENORMOUS hypocrites.

I doubt that if you go out to county road 29 after 2 am you will get shot. You might get mauled by a bear.

And for that matter, California is not as you say either.

Your right both Florida and California are both full of crime but are also both beautiful when you get down to the nature category.

I have lived in New York and California, There were nice people but I have had some pretty bad stuff happen to me in the Rural areas of these states. I have been robbed and almost killed in these 2 states there ok but I don't feel safe there. And not to mention one of my neigbors, when I lived in NY, said everyone in the South were "sheep f**kers." But I do agree that I shouldn't overeact to other people's opinions of Georgia. And also what I said was a little hypicritical against those states. I mean opinions are opinions, it might be what you think of a state but its not what everyone else thinks of a state. I'm really sorry about what I said and I regret every word I said.

I try not to be hypicrital, but it happens to everyone. I've had too many problems in NY and Ca.

Actually... I know tons of hicks up north who are, in fact, Sheep f***ers. XD

One of our neighbors got caught "attending" to the cows. That... that was in NY. So those folks who said that to you had no room to point the finger. Too many people up north seem ignorant to the rednecks living right around them. And they point fingers at the south when some guy in Vermont is beating his kids. Anyway...

You remind me of me actually. Bad experiences colored my opinion of Louisiana and now I can't wait to get out of here. So I can understand your point of view.

Could you tell me what happened and where in NY?

From the states I've lived in, the best is Oregon, the worst is between Florida and North Carolina.

Heck, I'm from the midwest and it's among my least favorite areas of the nation. Nothing wrong with having an opinion. There is a reason why many midwest states have been shriveling as a percentage of national population over the decades. Case in point: Iowa (where I'm from, incidentally), whose population is almost unchanged since 1970 and has only increased by around 25% since 1920. Most people don't want to live in the midwest - there's the evidence. For those that do, it's an awesome place to live but just like anywhere else, it has its unique positives and its unique drawbacks. I love Iowa but I don't want to live there.

In my opinion, Hawaii would be the best state in which to live followed by California, Florida and then Oregon or Washington.
