Everyone is free to express their opinions. This is America. You have the right not to listen, or even better, have open discussion in a grown up mature way. I don't resort to trite platitudes like the one you have attributed to me.
What have I said? You are bringing me into something you have a problem with for someone else, please don't bring me into your problems. Thanks!

Hehe thats funny, i'd be just about opposite

Some good areas would be California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Arkansas, South Carolina, Hawaii(beautiful, awesome climate), Alaska(for those who love the outdoors, cold, and smaller populations), Florida, Rhode Island(interests me ), Oklahoma.

Not as good areas would be Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, those come to mind first.

Perhaps you should read the context. Someone claims that I said "opinions don't mean jack without data to back them up". I never said that, however, that is a recurring theme in your posts. I'm just connecting point A with point B.

Besides that, you pop into discussions I have with other people all the time. In fact, in this very thread, you commented

Best:
New Hampshire
Iowa
Minnesota
Ohio
Pennsylvania
Maine

Worst:
Michigan
Alabama (only due to lots of poverty and crime in Birmingham)
California
Florida
Mississippi (mostly poverty, Jackson could use some work, look up to Little Rock I would say)
Based on what? Birmingham's a pretty wealthy town. There's crime in select neighborhoods, but that's gangs shooting each other up over turf.

I moved here from Chicago a few years back. I was pretty amazed at what a great town it is.

More anti-Midwestern bias again.

What is your reasoning to back up your opinion on all those areas?

I don't even know what to say to this. I simply don't care for the midwest, thats my opinion. Why is it that the posters from the midwest are always jumping on other people for their opinion? (I don't mean that to all of you, theres just a certain group of people always questioning people for everything they say, like its not ok for them to have their own opinion and not like the midwest)Everyone has a different opinion, that just happens to be mine. I'm getting tired of explaining myself in situations i shouldn't have to.

My favorite states are New York and Pennsylvania. The only one I really dislike is Florida. There's also regions within some states - particularly Chicagoland and Northern California - that I'd recommend. I'm not a big fan of SoCal and downstate Illinois, though.

Best States (in my opinion):

Utah (Salt Lake City; Park City)

Indiana (Indianapolis is a secret waiting to be discovered. Indy is relatively cheap with so many big city amenties. It's probably the most underrated city.)

Minnesota (It's beautiful and one of healthiest, but it can be hard to make friends.)

Vermont and New Hampshire (It's great with alot of green and space to grow. If you are a conservative and religious person, the Northeast should be your last choice.

I understand that most people finds fast-growing places such as Maryland, Florida, Texas, and Georgia more desireable places to live but those places are the next to be like California is right now.

Worst States:

Mississippi & West Virginia Hands Down
Alabama
California
South Carolina
Kentucky
Great Plain States except for Colorado
Florida

I admit my home state Arkansas is still terrible but I noticed improvements due to Wal-Mart HQ being here, new roads, and higher taxes to bring more services so I praise AR's efforts.

This question is entirely subjective because it entirely depends on what you are used to, what you like, what you do for a living, etc.

I prefer northeast and midwest states but that is just me. I have my reasons for liking living here and another person might love living in the South for equally valid reasons. Any place can be a great place to live as long as it fits you.
