Id say New York, Chicago, Philly, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Dallas, Charlotte all have pretty skylines. I say no to Seattle because if there was no Rainer Seattle wouldn't be that great and no to Miami because its just a bunch of condos.

well said! a natural backdrop shouldn't define a man-made skyline

Well you can't see Rainier half the year anyways due to the weather...
I dunno, I'd say Seattle is still superior to somewhere like Charlotte or Cincinnati although not at the level of New York City or Chicago.
Who makes up these official skyline rules? You can't judge a skyline if it contains a large number of high rise condos? Who says? Mountain backdrops don't count? It's all subjective---the natural landscapes always inform the style and look of a city. Part of the appeal of New York's skyline is that it's built in between two river and New York Harbor. But apparently one is supposed to assume that in the official skyline judging regulations you can only judge skylines by only their high rise commercial buildings regardless of their location. Whatever.
