I think Harrisburg pa looks a lot bigger than it is. Everytime i visit my uncle there im amazed that a city under 50k has such a large skyline

and i think i've driven through trinidad before, its right before NM border right? It seemed small to me, just from 25, it didnt have a skyline.

Im blanking on the other place...

That would be my pick. And despite it's size it has it's areas like big cities do and thus Italian/Chinese ( very diversified ) etc. Typically though it is thought of as a burb of Philly. Despite it's closeness to Philly there is alot that makes them very different/unrelated and thus totally separate entities. I personally think of Philly burbs when reaching Chester PA on east. Wilmington actually has it's own suburbs like Newark, Claymont, Bear and a few others.

Others worth mentioning.

The trip coming into this place via the downtown expressway makes you think you are coming into a bigger size city then it is as well. This city is also the 3rd largest in the state by area, after Detroit and Grand Rapids. Thus driving from one end to the other makes it seem bigger then it is as well despite traffic not being a big issue here. The view from above though is not nearly as impressive.

Ocean City, MD like Atlantic City is another that gives off the appearance of being much larger then it is especially at night. Part of it is because you have decent views coming into both of them and both are very long from north to south. Both have decent size buildings too. Ofcourse Atlantic City's skyline goes higher.

WOW.. That is a contender as i drove through there ( and stopped in it's downtown area ) a number of years back and had the same impression. I thought there was ALOT more people then that living there. That felt alot bigger then here ( as mentioned above this feels bigger then it is as well ) and the population here is 50k+.. I almost don't wanna believe that number.. Serious. lol

FYI, New Orleans is far larger than 150k; in fact it is over a million.

No way, it is definitely under 500k. I believe about 350k. The metro is over 1 million though.

You're right, I was looking at the metro population when I mentioned that, city proper is around 345k. Either way, it definitely is not in the <150k category which is the topic of this thread.

We're talking metro populations, right? City pops. alone don't mean much anymore.

I pretty sure we are talking city proper, yes everybody? Many cities mentioned so far have metros over 150k.
