Have you been to Hawaii? How about Honolulu? If you went to Honolulu name me a couple things you did in that city.

This should be interesting

Why do I have to justify my opinion to a random forumer on the internet?

Nah, I could smell from your post that you didn't seem like a life long resident of NYC. I dunno why, but it was written all over by the comment.

In general: midwesterners end up in Tampa, New Yorkers in Miami

How is Upstate NY Midwestern?

Why is Upstate NY considered Midwestern but New England considered Northeastern?

Upstate NY is Northeastern.

Because I suspect that you haven't been to both places. Possibly neither. Your strong opinion (Haha Miami is losing) tells me most of what I need to know.

Whether its NYC, Albany, Syracuse, etc. what does it matter?

We are all "Yankees" escaping cold weather.

It depends. I haven't been to Utica so I'll pass on judgement but cities like Buffalo, Rochester and even Syracuse are definitely midwestern in prevailing culture.

My brother lives in the Kaimuki section of Honolulu and ive been to Miami and have close friends that live right in South Beach.

Are you really going to question whether not even an NYer, but a Northerner has been to Miami (Florida)?

Then you have no idea what Midwest culture is and you clearly have no idea what NY looks like geographically.

Find someone from the Midwest who would agree with you. If you can, ill mail you $20.

I'm mostly suspicious about Hawaii. So have you visited your brother out in Honolulu?
