Default San Diego vs. San Jose
Both cities are similar, in that they are close to larger cities and tend to get overshadowed by them. Both have a high cost of living and a low crime rate, and big in the technology industry.

San Diego has nearer beaches and that's about it. Then again, if you live inland, they're about the same distance.
