Seattle hasn't been in the top ten twenty in the US for years....Its a misconception that won't go away. Atlanta, which is a subject of this post, is in 18th place.

This list hasn't varied much from this for years.

Oh--here's more:

Wait, you say. The list above is from 2007. It still hasn't changed much.

Default pittsburgh by a wide margin

The most over-rated city by far is Pittsburgh. They have spent money trying to pr themselves to winning awards and certain publications like forbes gives it tacit support, either because they are earning money by being paid for the pr and/or they have some ties (i.e. to the old, wealthy Pittsburgh).

Though I would like to move there sometime in my life, and I find the city interesting, I would for sure say Seattle is the most overrated city in the country.

Modesto, CA

I have a cousin who's from Modesto and they're all like "Neener, Neener I'm from Modesto aren't I cool" So I was like, "Why don't you put a cork in it and besides you're adopted anyways" that shut her right up instantly. People from Modesto are so gullible and quick to burst into tears.

I can't imagine anyone from Modesto bragging about being from there.

I know, this has to be a joke. I've lived in Modesto (decades ago) and it wasn't great then and has only gone drastically downhill since. The city is just happy to have Stockton nearby to take deserved negative attention away from it.
