Seriously the difference between the Expo Line or Gold Line in LA and the B-Line in Boston is incredible, at least in terms of comfort and track quality.
How many times have you ridden the B Line? Track quality?

How many times?

Probably 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. No joke - basically every day for 2.5 years. Maybe I should have said "ride quality". You think the B Line has a smooth ride? D Line maybe, but no way on B Line.

C and D are smooth rides. The B has some rough spots, but you have to remember it's sandwiched between Comm Ave for it's duration. The Expo line, decades newer, does not have the same setup as the B Line.

I would say the Expo Line is smoother.

I'm usually a big proponent of rail but this has to be the biggert waste of money I've seen. A BILLION dollars per mile for light rail?!? You can walk the length of that extension that dead ends in Chinatown in about 15 minutes.

They already started construction on it even though I don't think they have even secured the federal funds for it yet. Muni is such a joke.

Yeah it seems like a bit of a waste to me - though some people think the Regional Connector in LA is a waste too, while I think it is a valuable connector between all the LRT lines. Does the Central Subway at least connect something-to-something? I know it starts at the Cal Train depot.

I agree the C and D are pretty smooth. I just had a love / hate relationship with the B Line, that's all I actually was pretty lucky and lived at Cleveland Circle right in front of the B Line so I had three options within a quick walk.

Not really, I'm not even sure it will have a direct underground connection to BART. It's dead ending in Chinatown. Apparently it's suppose to eventually go all the way to Fisherman's Wharf via North Beach but who knows. Still, I've never seen a billion dollars per mile for Light rail or even Heavy Rail outside of NYC.
