Our light rail system in LA needs expansion to really move people. I hardly use it since it does not service my work commute. I have to rely on buses to get places.
why are people voting for San diegos light rail it dosent do anything really it doseont take commuters were they need to go anyway its as lame as Houstons light rail. The only places it goes to thats specail is downtown petco park baseball stadium and qualcomm stadium were the chargers are at and thats pretty much it nobady even uses the trolly in san diego it only gets utilized during special events.
Yeah its somewhat of a random trolley system, but it does
go to the border, through downtown, and also through sdsu and all the ghetto areas where hardly anyone can afford a car, so it kind of means something for those people. Daily ridership has surpassed 125,000 and is quickly approaching 150,000. San diegos coaster and sprinter fast rail systems are doing well. I just wish the coaster had more stops and a more persistent service. Many people don't realize that it is possible to live almost anywhere in urban San diego county without a car
Well, I guess if if I have to stop speaking about Omaha, then you'll have to stop voting for Denver.
What you dont make sence, all i said was that Denver has one of the best light rail sysyems in america, and besides denver has two votes and i'm not from there? I was actually braging abou ABQ if you didnt notice..

Yeah and nobody works downtown do they? All those skyscrapers are empty shells. I used to work downtown and I took the Trolley instead of paying $150+ a month to park. Over 25% of the workers in Downtown San Diego take transit to work. Many people take the trolley to jobs in Mission Valley as well and from the US-Mexico border. SD has one of the most successful light rail systems in the country and is used by a lot of people everyday. At least SD's Trolley actually hit major venues like Petco and Qualcomm, you can't even take any public transit to a Dodger game, not even a bus. And if you actually had an NFL team no rail goes by the Coliseum yet.
SD Trolley carries more people per route mile than LA's light rail too. According to APTA's 1st quarter 2008 ridership statistics, LA's light rail carried 130k on 73 miles of track. SD's carried 99k on 53 miles of track. SD's system is slight more efficient and carries more people per mile than LA's.
Out of this list, Boston and SF have the best and highest ridership followed by LA, Portland, and San Diego.
^^ most of the stuff you said is heavenly exzageratted ive use to commute on SD rail during weekdays to oldtown and it is very vacant at least L.A. has diffrent modes of transportation e.g. subway, elavated rail, lite rail SD gots nuttin in that department. ill also like to add that there was a artical about SDs rail and it said that people hardly used it yeah sure u got them people from mission valley but once agin u made up this material because not even people from mission valley ride so jokes on U
