At some point your probably going to think I'm disagreeing with you just to be disagreeable but I actually hate the art at Northpark. It makes an already old looking mall look even older. The inside of the mall reminded me of Northwest Mall (very 70s). It took me a while to get used to the Houston Galleria layout. It wasn't till I worked there for a few months that I got the hang of it.

I was just trying to say something nice about Northpark . I could care less for the art and the stuff in the middle of the walkways just gets in the way.

I'll say something nice about Houston Galleria:
It's got a lot of foreign shoppers. Working there was like working at the United Nations.
Now that we settled that I'm going to duck out of this conversation before jluke catches wind of it and I end up with more Galleria facts than I've ever wanted to know. bye bye

That is definitely true. I saw a more diverse crowd at Houston Galleria than at Northpark.

That's because Dallas has a greater selection of upscale shopping venues.

Nope. Houston has always had more international visitors/residents than Dallas. Even with Dallas' other upscale shopping malls, Northpark is still the best of them all. Bad excuse buddy.

But then again, this thread is about which city offers more upscale shopping. That said, Dallas vs Houston is pretty much dominated by Dallas.
Dallas:
Galleria
Northpark
Stonebriar Centre
The Shops at Willow Bend
Collin Creek
Houston:
Galleria
Memorial City
Galleria Houston has an advantage though; due to there are so few upscale shopping venues in H-Town, high end retailers are funneled to that location.

Dallas Galleria and Memorial City don't seem very upscale to me. It would be better if you took Memorial City off the list and put Uptown Park and Highland Village. I've only been to the Dallas Galleria a few times and it always seemed like a typical mall.

I tend to agree.
Highland Park Village in Dallas is a better fit for this discussion. Ultra upscale.

So, considering Dallas' trade area is twice the size of Houston's, I'd say that's not bad for Houston. And you logic of everything being funneled to one location is flawed. Northpark still holds pretty much everything. What you said doesn't change the fact that Houston receives more international visitors. It does have, what, three times the foreign consulates as DFW.
