Houston and Chicago - both very flat. Both with very similar highest peaks. Highest point in Chicago is 120 feet and Houston is 125 feet. San Francisco is IMO the hilliest in the US - it reminds me of a mini Istanbul in that regard. LA in areas can also be pretty hilly but definitely different than how SF is.
Nashville does have parts of the city higher than 1000 ft. Nashville's lowest altitude is 385 feet at the Cumberland River downtown and its highest is 1,160 feet in the southern part of the city next to Brentwood. Nashville is definitely hilly.
Here's a picture taken looking south from downtown. The picture is posted at city-data's Nashville page.
And another picture from city-data. This taken from north of downtown, and on the other side of downtown the large hills of south Nashville are visible.
Kansas City is probably one of the least flat major cities. People that mention KC are only doing so purely out of ignorance.
People who are saying that are just going by the idea that the Midwest equals flat. They don't realize that the major rivers have big bluffs on their sides which means that many of the river cities are among the least flat parts of the Midwest. Minneapolis and especially St Paul are like this too. Minneapolis isn't hilly the way St Paul is but it has a rolling topography that is significantly less flat than Chicago or Denver, it also has the Mississippi River gorge running through it.
let us not forget HOUSTON for one of the flattest cities in America. They have the Houston Alps which are the bridges and overpasses of I-610
Yeah, we can't forget about Houston, but clearly we have to forget about Miami which is even flatter.
