I dont believe in comparing cities in same regions as twins usually cities in the region are similar thats why there in the same region. That disqualifies philly-bmore indianapolis-columbus louisville-nashville charleston west va chattanooga Seattle-san fran and charlotte -jacksonville soooo
Charlotte indianapolis
Boston-san fran
Memphis st louis bmore and oakland is their long lost sibling
Houston-philly-
Dallas-minneapolis
St paul-fort worth
L.a-miami
Pittsburgh -cincinatti
Its more im missing but heres some
-Syracuse, NY: has the feel and landscape similar enough to be the Northern version of Richmond...
-Ithaca, NY: architecturally, culturally, and landscape-wise, is like a tiny part of DC. Of course, Ithaca is so much smaller, but anyone familiar with both cities could feel it instantly...
-Binghamton, NY/Charleston, WV: that assertion is spot-on...
-Elmira, NY/Gainesville, GA: the demograhics are the biggest difference. These two cities are North/South twins if any are...
-Harrisburg, PA: is definitely Baltimore-esque...
-Baltimore: in the demographics, in the sheer rawnesd and bleakness of the city's overall appearance, Baltimore reminds very much of Memphis. Smaller cities like Harrisburg and Richmond have areas that are alike Baltimore, but Memphis is its Southern twin...
-Richmond, VA: maybe because its my hometown lol. Parts of Richmond remind me of DC, other parts Baltimore, Syracuse, and Knoxville...
-Raleigh/Charlotte: much more alike than natives of those cities choose to believe. Charlotte is definitely the better city though. Charlotte also does have an Atlanta-lite feel In certain areas...
-Indianapolis/Kansas City: KC wads a little more exciting, but my lasting impression is boring, large towns...
-Little Rock: is a Dallas-Memphis hybrid...
I have never been anywhere comparable to LA, althpugh I have no reason to believe Miami is. And besides Ithaca, NY looking like a smaller version of The District, I have never been anywhere like DC. That city is one of the few truly unique U.S. cities...
I don't understand the comparison between Dallas and Minneapolis earlier in the thread, they are nothing alike.
Me neither. Two very different cities, on many levels. I think people get the whole "twin cities" thing stuck in their head. You know, Minneapolis-St. Paul somehow equates with Dallas-Ft. Worth (even though it doesn't).
Actually, IMO the closest thing Dallas would have to a "twin" would be Houston. Keep in mind that twins often fight with each other constantly and have bitter rivalries.
