The 90s hands down, but I would also like to be stuck in the 1980s as well. Between those twenty years, I consider them to be the best decade when it comes to music, movies, TV, and the greatest eras (and crash) in video game history. These decades also had awesome politics, quality of life, and to be quite frank, the closest America has ever got to fulfilling its purpose of "Liberty, Justice, Equality, and Happiness for ALL!" See my post from "Do you hate the US? *poll*" for more info.

You know earlier I said the 50s would be my favorite decade to be stuck in. After thinking about my choice I must clarify what I was thinking at the time. Mostly the visual and relational things that i can remember about back then. I didn't really know much about the news of the day when I was only 4 in 59' and only remember hearing the words "Eisenhower and Kruschev and Radio Free Europe and Iron curtain" words which meant nothing to me at the time. Lassie, mickey mouse, Dobie Gillis, etc. LOL. Black and white tv's that went out in no time. Long distance calls which cost a fortune and had a poor connection. No air conditioning unless you had money. Some sweet memories. But the Black people didn't have it so good in those days. I remember. couldn't make a judgement on it then. Had to have a history lesson or two about the civil rights and civil war.

Medical care hadn't progressed to the point it has now. Illegal drugs weren't common in most areas of the world at the time. Highways were still mostly 2 lane. Flying was gaining popularity but the train was still the way to travel.

Anyone on CD can refute and challenge what I did or did not state and that will be ok by me. This is simply what I remember from my own experience and no one elses. In many ways, my favorite decade is now. Things are wonderful compared to some other ones of the past. In spite of all our problems, we have it pretty good in the 2000s.

I choose the 90's, for all the reason stated, mostly the economy was good, we weren't at war. My second choice would be the 50's , life was so much simpler back then.

It won't be so bad when those Hell-awful, grotesque, my-blubber-runneth-over hip-huggers finally fade out of "fashion".

I would have to say the '90s. Especially from '94 on up. I had just graduated High School and the sky was the limit. American morale was very high. The economy was booming as was the tech industry. Come to think of it, the 1990s appear to be what I always thought the 1950s would have been like on a rudimentary level.
On a personal level the 2000's have been pretty rollercoaster-ish. Good and Bad. (I'm not doing too well as I write this, but I will survive). 2004 was an awesome year for me - one of the best! I guess I can hand pick good moments from every year.
In my opinion, as a country the 2000's have been at best mundane and pretty horrible otherwise. I don't think I need to cite the reasons why. I guess if I consider the '90s like the '50s, then the 2000's have been like the 60's. Just without the progressive vision or any of the artistic inspiration.

I dunno..

I will say; the 2000s have been a great decade for science and technology.

Definitely! I wasn't alive back then, but I would love to go back and experience it:

The true start of Rock n Roll
Curves on women became fashionable (Marilyn Monroe)
And... the introduction of the PEZ candy dispenser lol!

Having said that, the 60's brought us some of the best bands of all time...
