I did pick any city anywhere in the USA to live, and I picked Victoria Texas. Because it best fulfills my present needs. There were times in the past that it wouldn't have, but it does now. There are a lot of people whose needs would be better served somewhere else, but not me. I have neither employment nor family proximity considerations to think about, so for me, now, this is the place that I want to be.
I think I might also like it in Cheyenne Wyoming or Lewiston Idaho. Maybe I'll try one of those in the future. I also think I might like to live in Covington, Kentucky, which has basicly a small-town lifestlye, but I could walk across the pedestrian bridge to Great America Ballpark any night I want to go to a Cincinnati Reds game---that would be nice.
A huge mansion on surfside blvd in Apollo beach south of Tampa, right on the bay. Great views of Downtown Tampa and St Pete. And great boat access to the beaches or the cities in the area.

I've been to Victoria, Texas during Spring Break. It's a nice little town and all the folks there are extremely nice, hospitable and sympathetic!
The Victorian houses are also quite neat.
Oh and Fossati's Delicatessen is so delicious. Has to be one of the best Italian restaurants in the south!!
If you could pick anywhere in the US to live without job or money worries where would it be?
I'd go to San Francisco, Portland OR or even New York City. San Francisco appeals to me because of the way the city looks and the weather. Portland is just lovely. And NYC seems like such a fascinating place to be in spite of the expense. But if money was no issue, I think expense wouldn't matter, right?
The South Bay of Los Angeles (prefereably Torrance). Its where I grew up and the best place to live in my opinion. Sencond choice would be Dallas, and I live here now.
I don't know of a U.S. city that would be like what I want--warmth and beach with urban density. It's like having to choose between L.A. and New York, but I want a combination of the two! Miami maybe?
These are my prerequisites:
Natural Beauty
Man-Made Beauty
Close to Water
Vibrancy
Urbanity
Diversity
Culture
Progressive
Socially Conscious
Environmentally Conscious
Great Education
Great Food
Great Transportation
Microclimates
No Humidity
420 Friendly
Unique
Haha! There's only one place I can think of, maybe two!
