Miami? They are no southern people in Florida (exception panhandle).

There are plenty of southern people in Florida (excluding panhandle). A state can't wave a magic wand and change its geography. If all the residents of Mississippi disappeared and all New Yorkers went to live there, Mississippi would still be a southern state. You can't "metropolitanize" your way out of being a southern city and you can't immigrate your way out of being a southern city.

I believe metro Atlanta has the largest GDP in the South, so I would say Atlanta is the capital of the South.

The only real "threats" to Atlanta would be Houston, Dallas, and Miami. I don't what it is with these Charlotte boosters, but Atlanta > Charlotte. There it is, in a nutshell.

I do not think there is no capital of the South, however for the purpose of this thread ill chose Atlanta it is more populous than Miami.
