The poll speaks for itself. Every Southern city doesn't deserve to be on this poll, as only a handful are worthy of the title being discussed.

Western culture is not necessarily seperate from southern culture, especially in Texas' case.

Please tell me we don't have to go over this discussion AGAIN.

...even I'll admit, the Cowboy/Western image is used a bit too much.
As a Fort Worth native and resident, do you think Fort Worth more reflects Western culture rather than Southern?

If we can't even define what Southern culture is, than how do we know what IS and ISN'T Southern?

Yeah. That's why I posted those pics. Just count how many longhorns, cowboys, and other Wild West related images you see. And I'm not saying at all that Fort Worth doesn't have any "southern" qualities. I'm just saying you see more of the Wild West image than you do the Southern image.

I disagree....Cowboys, longhorns, cowboys hats, cattle etc. are not just unique to Fort Worth...You could find this type of activity all over the south and Midwest....Fort Worth is a southern town...There is nothing distinctly different from the people in Fort Worth compared to the rest of the south. Same southern accent, same history of racial segregation, part of the Bible belt etc....

I agree. Alabama and Mississippi are definitely Southern. Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida are definitely East Coast especially with the time zone border following close to those state's western borders! Louisiana is too Francophone. Kentucky and Tennessee are closer to Great Lakes culture. Oklahoma and Arkansas is closer to Great Plains Midwestern culture.

Atlanta may be the capital of the Southeast but not the South. It's too close to the East!
