I think Oregons' is the most unique, but also ugly. Wisconsins looks the most like the US capitol in my opinion. In the end I must say I can't choose a best capitol building. I can say however Hawaii's Capitol is the ugliest!!

I'm not what you would call an unbiased observer, but I quite like the Massachusetts State House.

I can't say it is the best or the worst, but something about Florida's capitol building is a bit off...

Hmm..

Oregon's reminds me of a Mormon Temple.

New Mexico's kinda reminds me of one of those new MegaChurches.

Hawaii's modern capitol bldg is hideous. Iolani Palace(the old capitol bldg) is much nicer.

I think the nicest one is Texas'. So commanding and the color is really nice.

Here in California, San Francisco's City Hall is much more dramatic than the State Capitol in Sacramento.

San Francisco City Hall, by contrast has the biggest dome outside of Western Europe(14 inches taller than the US Capitol). Inside is to die for.

Hey what about Texas! It's really a spectacular building inside and out. Not sure if it still holds true, but it's supposed to be the largest state capitol (everything's bigger in Texas, right?).

Best (which for me is prettiest): Colorado, California, Iowa, New York, Indiana, Georgia, West Virginia, Kentucky (probably my top pick), Missouri, Louisiana

Worst: Ohio, Alaska, Hawaii, Florida (the ugliest, perhaps)

yea, I agree that unique doesn't make it attractive (like NMs or Hawaii's)

and PA's interior is even more stunning person! I wasn't expecting much when i first went, but when i got inside I was like WOAH.

Anyway, here's a few photos of capitols i find attractive, but not pictured

Maryland (it has a great location, it is the oldest state capitol in continuous legislative use, largest wooden dome built without nails in the nation ) (oh, and we don't call it the capitol building, we call it the state house)

Virginia (I think its Haunted though! I went there recently and when i walked into a room, the door closed right behind me! Spooky)
