That checkerboard-floored room in the California capitol is something else..........talk about cooL!
I am curious though- if anyone has ever gotten a pass and gone up and seen the "infamous" top level of the Illlinois dome/turret. Lived here all my life and never been up there. Post a pic of it here if you have one! Just one of those things...........
Very interesting thread. Really cool looking Capitol buildings. I admit, I don't like New Mexico's. It fits with the Southwestern style, but still...be a little more creative.
Texas capitol building is huge. It's pink granite and you can't imagine the true size of it if you never been there. I remember we went into the front doors one time and came out in the middle of the street.
The Texas State Capital is the largest state capital building in terms of total square footage and The Texas State Capital Is 14 ft taller the US Capital.
Bringing back a good thread. Iowa by far has the best looking building. I do like the interior of Missouri's.
