I don't think Oregon's is that bad. It is an interesting twist and I think the stone the structure is built out of is actually really pretty and looks nice with the gardens. Granted it is a little odd shape, but it is unique and not bland. It sort of reflects the unique personality of the people of Oregon too.
IMO, Hawaii and Alaska have it out for the ugliest. They are BAD. New Mexico's looks like a city library in a small stucco suburb, but I can see how it is more fitting with Southwest architecture. I'm sure a large dome and marble would look really out of place with the rest of the city.
The tower at Florida's looks like a vertical prison without any windows. It is really depressing looking.
i have been in and around Oregon' capitol building. it is meant to be art deco, since there other more classic designs burned down. The Cherry blossoms are a nice touch, but I really don't think the area around it that hot.
