For late night cravings or after a day at the beach, the 24 hour drive-thrus in San Diego can't be beat. This is the land of the California Burrito (Carne asada w/french fries), rolled tacos and fish tacos. And hell no, we don't put rice and beans in our burritos to fatten them up like they do in San Francisco and at Chipotle....yuck.

I will say that New Mexican food is pretty good, but I don't care for Tex-Mex.

It's spelled Albuquerque and Phoenix-- get it straight.

Albuquerque, hands down, has the best Mexican (or New Mexican, I guess) cuisine of any major city, hands down. In fact I don't think I've ever had a bad meal in Albuquerque before.

My vote's with the 505.

LoL, every city I go to, I HAVE to find a Mexican food joint. No place compares to San Diego's Mexican food. The size, scope, and variety of Mexican food restaurants and fast food joints in San Diego is unlike anywhere else in the US. Los Angeles comes pretty damn close, but its hard to find carne asada fries in LA, San Diego has a monopoly on this dish. If u look it up on wikipedia, San Diego is the only city mentioned to have them. Let's not get into the California burrito, cuz I just might have to drive 1 mile down the street to get one

Hope this helps!

To be fair, I'm sure most sunbelt cities have at least a hand full of food joints that make awesome Mexican food.

I believe the place that makes the best Mexican food would be, uh, in Mexico. I voted "other" for that reason.

Also, its Phoenix, not Pheonix.

I'm gonna give a shout-out for Pueblo Colorado. It's not a major city YET, but after Vesta's Wind Tower Plant (http://coloradoenergynews.com/2008/08/pueblo-lands-vestas-wind-tower-plant/ - broken link)comes here, we'll be on the map and you'll get to eat the food! We got good Italian food here too.

Pound for pound, it's the best.

Just had 100,000 people attend the Pueblo Colorado Chile and Frijoles Festival weekend before last.

The 719!!!!!!!!

PS: Dallas is on there twice and still has the big goose egg.

Does Albuquerque have some kind of inferiority complex? Sorry ABQ isn't as big as Las Vegas and I don't see it getting there either. What's to do in ABQ after dark, I went to the "Library" wooooo.

Anyway, I've been to every city on this list except Houston. I would say the best Mexican food I had was in California.

I cant speak for Bradley but I can sure tell you that Albq does not have an inferiority complex of Vegas or any city,Vegas is the poster child for what we dont want here, its our birth control,Vegas is the last place we would want ABQ to turn into,so its not an inferiority complex.

and from what I hear, even from Californians that moved here, they say that California mexican food is bland.

Oh. But how's the Mexican food?
