Los Angeles considering the large Mexican population.
But still San Diego just might be in a close tie with L.A. or mybe san diego is better overall I don't know really it just should be SoCal all together for best mexican food.
Miami? Please. Miami doesn't even have a large Mexican population and it doesn't touch even 10 cities in the state of Texas alone.
I don't know about Miami, but Bradenton/Sarasota/Palmetto have these sandwiches called a "Cuban". It's like pressed and grilled on the outside. Those are killer.
...But I guess we shoulda expected NM to start attacking others on this thread, seeing that there arent very many things to boast NM for.
Well NM does have aliens... I hear.
New Mexico has Enchantment...
No, but really, New Mexico has Repo Man!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid phnoughtards! Leave NM alone! Being a Repo Man is always intense! Repo Man Code. More Repo Man
One thing I think we all can agree on... it sure ain't Denver. I mean, I love my hometown and can't wait to move back, but all the Mexican restaurants I've tried there suck. Bad. ...with the exception of Jack 'n Grill, which was started by a former ABQ resident, and Little Anitas, which is an Albuquerque chain-- hence, proof that even outside of Albuquerque Albuquerque has the best Mexican food. And btw, Albuquerque girls are HOT.
But don't worry McGowdog-- I'm still going to give Pueblo another shot next time I go there. Or maybe at least Alamosa-- with all the chiles grown down there there's got to be something phenomenal. And not to muck up old s*** again, but for the record, Mi Ranchito WAS good-- it just didn't blow me away like I expected.
obviously you dont understand mexican food do you, jalapenos is a tex-mex thing, not a new mexico thing, the food is different, trust me. Are you even hispanic?
and we put green chile on hamburgers, pizza, pasta, pistachios, fudge, chicken,st eak, jelly, asian food, you can get all sorts of things with chile on it or in it.
anyways this thread is getting out of hand, people are getting offended over mexican food, how stupid.
I think I know a litttle bit about Mexican food.
Being that I am mexican/american, not just hispanic; I worked as a chef in Los Angeles Mexican restaurant (and Im not talking about your corner chipotle restaurant or corner taco stand, rather a premier restaurant); and being that I am mexican/american, ive eaten mexican food just about every day in my life.
Like I said, I highly doubt that there is anything in the New Mexico mexican cuisine that puts it beyond Los Angeles. Mainly because Los Angeles has a much more diverse market from mexico including mexicans from every region in mexico, including Chihuaha and Veracruz (where jalapenos is a primary ingredient in just about everything they cook). Although the majority of the mexican population in LA is probably from Michoacan and Jalisco (central pacific region), judging from the restaurants and people ive met, there are still alot of people from the other regions.
Be that as it may, I know of a ton of places in LA that serve mexican food from the northern region. And simply because one is hispanic, more precisely mexican, does not make that person an expert in mexican food. I know people that cannot differentiate mexican food based on its region. They think mexican food is plainly mexican. Kinda like saying american food is american food, even though some regions are clearly distinct like the south versus the west.
Well just pretend the second Dallas in the poll is Tucson.
Wesside! That's the same thing I stated when I made original Mexican Food claims in a Colorado thread; the fact that there are hundreds of types of Mexican food. I'd have to agree that LA is so vast that they probably do have a taste of everything. Lucky Bastards!
I used to live in the Valley and it just seemed like we ate good for cheap. I couldn't eat Mexican food every day. I like other stuff too.
In my neck of the woods, we favor a certain type of Mexican food over another; New Mexican style to Tex Mex, let's say. But hey, if someone's gonna serve me some good Tex Mex, I'll tear it up! (Inner Cover from ZZ TOP album comes to mind... with that beer foam dripping down the glass... the guac and the sour cream and the food and the peppers!)
Dog is hungry now. How many Pueblos could you fit into LA? Let's see... 150!!!!!!!
Cheese Crisp
and homeade Salsa anybody?
I ain't no cook, so I need something simple. I do know how to eat Mexican food though, this much I know.
