Its totally absurd to say that a place with 5 Million+ mexicans, namely L.A., doesnt have good mexican food.

Honestly, these "City-Data" forums dont have one ounce of credibility to them. I would say, 5 out of 10 people that Ive seen here, vote based on their personal likes and dislikes. We could hold a forum by the title:
Best Hollywood in America
Hollywood, CA (Los Angeles)
Hollywood, Arkansa (population 28)
Hollywood, Idaho (population 1,000)
And shockingly, Hollywood CA still wouldnt win. While at the same time, the thread would be 11 pages long of insults, stereotypes, and misconceptions of Hollywood CA and why its not the best Hollywood in the Country. All while the moderators sit on their hands and pretend like nothing is happening.
In fact, Im surprised right now that this thread hasnt turned into a - bash los angeles thread - full of NY'ers and Chicagoans stating that the LA Mexican Food is crap because of Hollywood, plastic, crime, and some other bull****.
So, before you accredit this poll and call it "America's Opinion," do take it with a grain of salt.
Ive personally been to just about every city here. Ive lived in LA, SD, and Houston and have visited Vegas and Dallas tons of times. Though my only experience from New Mexico comes from a few brief stops at Albuqueque and Las Cruces, I can still tell you that based on the enormous diverse Mexican population in Los Angeles, LA likely has to most and best mexican food around.

I agree 100% this city-data forums is bs.People just can't accept the facts about L.A. or Cali.
Where would you rather live Pheonix or LA
Pheonix-61%
Los Angeles-39%
Who the hell would want to live in a dersert with suffering temps with no beach, scenery, mountains.Dont tell me that isn't bull**** because it is.

And you expect me to read this with a straight face! Not to cut down LA, but a lot of people want to live in Phoenix-- 4.1 million and growing! You could learn how to spell the city for the change-- phOEnix. And it's spelled "desert." Phoenix's mountain and desert scenery is actually MORE, not less beautiful than anything around LA. Not to mention that where you're living is the laughingstock of southern California. Sorry to burst your bubble, but Perris, CA (and Cali is a city in Colombia by the way) is not LA. Maybe an extreme outskirt, that's about it. Other than the extreme heat, which you can get used to believe it or not and it adds a lot of character to the area, Phoenix absolutely blows the Inland Empire away when it comes to quality of life.

As usual, Tucson is left out of the poll.
IMO, the best Mexican cuisine (outside of Mexico) can be found at Cafe Poca Cosa in Tucson.

Three reps to ya. And I've got to get Vegas again when I get a chance. He listed a place where he had good mexican food in LA.
Give us a name of some places and let us find out for ourselves. I'll bet all these places are pretty darn good.
Also, give us a list of some of your favorite types of Mexican food. Tacos? What kind of tacos. I used to not think much of fish tacos. Until I had these mahi mahi tacos in LAX. This little restaurant in there had 2 or maybe 3 of these tacos for 15.00! I thought, what a ripoff. But I was hungry and had per diem money coming anyway. I ate this stuff and it was some of the best food I'd ever had in my life. So I think I was in concourse 7 or 8... Mahi Mahi tacos. Check it out.

If you visit Cafe Poca Cosa in Tucson, I recommend you order the Plato Poca Cosa. The Chef will choose 3 dishes at random to prepare for you based on what fresh ingredients are available that day, and the menu changes at least twice daily. You can find creations such as grilled beef with a jalapeño chile and tomatillo sauce, chicken with a dark mole sauce made with Kahlúa, chocolate, almonds, and chiles, or Tamale enrobed in a beet sauce, polla mole amarillo, and carne in a chipotle/plum sauce just to name a few. Also, great salsa, Sangria, and Margaritas...
