Would you really rather live in Mougadishu? The city has a murder rate East St. Louis could only dream of, is run by muslim extremist/terrorist (no that isnt a slap against Islam), and clean water is rare?
Would you really rather live in that world? Im not a big fan of Mississippi or Alabama, but I would rather live there than Mougadishu.
As for how conservative Texas is, overall it is a conservative state. There are liberal pockets in Austin, and the inner cores of Dallas and Houston. El Paso and the Rio Grande Valley vote democrat, but arent really liberal per se.
No real interest in Texas, but like Lafeshadower said I am somewhat envious of Texas today. The cost of living, the growing and balanced economy are things I wish California had right now.

You have been listening to much Rick Perry and his secession talk. It’s a myth that has been instilled by the media that Texas is a ultra conservative state. Its more registered democrats in the state of Texas than republicans. The problem is they don't vote. There are plenty of democrats in office from the state of Texas. The state is on the verge of becoming a swing state.

I was obviously exaggerating when I said I'd rather live in somali, but being from the northeast texas and texan culture jus rubs me the wrong way. They're always talking about seccession.
