Im trying to tell them Polo there is so much wealth and wealthy shopping in Palm beach and Miami is crazy. Not too mention all the upscale shopping on South beach.

All of Atlanta (city limits only) has 12 homes over $10 million dollars listed, and there are 67 homes over $5 million dollars.

So Atlanta (including Buckhead), with 500,000 people has less top priced homes than tiny Beverly Hills which has less than 40,000 people???? I think the South can do much better than that. Surely there are other areas where there are more top priced homes where the very wealthy live than Buckhead. I voted for Palm Beach. It is the only area I know of with a comparable number of very expensive homes.
So cost of living in Atlanta is low... gift or curse? However those few million dollar homes are going to be fabulous. You are definety going to ger your moneys worth

Right. Like stated before the ridiculous price of houses in Southern California makes it easy for Beverly Hills to have a large collection of astronomically priced houses.

There are plenty of neighborhoods in L.A. where houses that are border line dumps sell for more than some mansions in Atlanta. That doesn't make those neighborhoods superior certainly.

Yet again something in Charlotte is seriously underrrated or unknown. you guys really need to check out Southpark. and yes Atlanta natives i do think it really competes with Buckhead.

Actually, the higher price of homes in L.A. (or anywhere else) than in Atlanta does reflect the fact that they are more desirable by more people. Superior? Depends on how you define it - to different people, "superior" will be different. But to a larger majority of people L.A. is a superior location to Atlanta, or anyplace else that is cheaper than L.A. for comparable housing/property and the prices clearly reflect this.

Actually it's more of the fact that places in like South have much more land to build on unlike LA. Desirability does contribute, but that isn't the only reason for the high cost of living there.
