San Francisco is finally doing something about the table top effect it seems to have with regards to its skyline...

A lot of the changes are going to be also visible from street level..
Before...

After...

SF's new skyline is going to be very striking, though I have to wonder...I've seen the top two renderings several times, and they clearly show the 1,200ft Transbay Tower, but where are the 2 Renzo Piano towers (also 1,200ft)?

SF's "tabletop" problem did not register in my eyes. I saw a nice cluster. Now it's going to have Chicago's problem of a bunch of sore thumbs across the horizon.

DLA looks good in those pics on a clear day w/o smog over the mtns

Not a lot of high-income jobs in DLA's towers....lots of SF-like homeless....inedible nearby grub...and a 20-40min commute to Westside (LA financiers often arrive in office by <5AM)

Would argue CentCity or BH is de facto epicenter of LA....great distant views of Pac, SM Mtns and DLA skyline....much hotter chicks walking around....good grub/bars....<20min commute

SF is one fugly downtown....fugly bldgs; endless homeless and obese tourists....good grub...very few hotties....relevant towers have excellent, spacious undgd parking garages (for the many car nuts who enjoy commuting in interesting perf cars)...easy 10min drive home up hills into PacHts
