How about capital, city, metro, and CSA?

Ohio is pretty unique in having 3 different cities here:

Capital - Columbus
City - Columbus (787,000)
Metro - Cincinnati (2.1M beating CLE this year by 40k people)
CSA - Cleveland (2.9M)

Maryland: our largest city is Baltimore, our largest metropolitan is DC (or Philly, I don't know which is bigger but only one county of the Philly metro is in Maryland), and our Capital is Annapolis.

For now Philly is larger, I am still befutteld how Cecil county is part of the Philly MSA

MD like CA, TX, and FL may be the only states where there are least two such metros in this context strike that, both PA and NY qualify guess is more common that I thought though MD is probably the most compressed example as they all touch on the MSA front

Philadelphia is actually the largest metro in Maryland, not D.C.
