Which area is the better option for a nice, fun relaxing getaway vacation?? I've been on the fence about this one for a while now!! Any opinions? Thoughts?

I have been to both. I think Tampa is better. Just having the option of going to the beach in Tampa is what takes over. Also I think the area around Tampa is more interesting as your are closer to other cities and different beaches.

Phoenix has beautiful scenery but IMO that's about it. Not much else to do unless you are really into hiking, but not sure if that is something you want to do on vacation that is meant to be relaxing.

Thanks for the input...the beaches are the main factor that is pushing Tampa in my own opinion.....Seen to be a few really nice ones within driving range of Tampa too....

If you get bored with the beach, there is a lot more to do in the Tampa Bay area as well. http://www.visitstpeteclearwater.com/ http://www.visittampabay.com/

I have been to both cities...and my choice would be TAMPA! Just way more to see and do in Tampa plus the beaches are nice. PHX is beautiful but extremly BORING!!!!! Seriously it really is super boring. Every since I was a little girl for some weird reason I always wanted to live in PHX. So my sister and I take a vacation there for a week. BIG MISTAKE....after the 3rd day I was ready to go home. There is nothing I repeat NOTHING to do there. NOTHING! Let me just say it again...NOTHING!

LOL...So people from NJ need to be entertained at all times. I guess that's how we ended up with the cultural "Jersey Shore". How not boring.
