And, you are a part of it now. Congrats. Skyline is not just about the buidlings, it is alos about monuments and bridges and this category Chicago has not much to show for and New York... Well, If you ever seen Verrazzano you know what I am talking about. Queensboro, Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges add additional flavour and finally there is Lady Liberty.
Chicago skyline may impress, but only New York's is truly impressive.
Honestly, I don't think any of New York's bridges outside of the Brooklyn Bridge look nice. The Statue of Liberty is nice, but it doesn't really make the skyline.

You probably haven't seen much. Verrazano Brigde is IMHO one of the most beautiful bridges in the world. Big enough, like Statue of Liberty to make the skyline. Take a look next time you are in the city.
We can always count on bigcityguy to post pictures to prove our points
Thanks bigcity. I think the shot with Lady Liberty proves the point about NY superb.
You can build tall buidling from Shangahai to Dubai but nobody can get the Lady to grace it with her historical and beautiful presence.!
How can you pick between these two skylines? They're both just amazing skylines bar none.
Here's the bottomline: New York's skyline is much bigger and more diverse. Chicago's skyline in my opinion, is just as intimidating as New York's and that is mainly because the Sears, Hancock, and Aon are probably the most intimidating skyscrapers any skyline can have.
