Hell yeah it is I don't have to drive hundred of miles to get to the Mountains, beach or even the desert, where you have all of this within 50 miles of LA and the Bus System is amazing.

And it's even more enjoyable on a winter day with mild Santa Ana winds and 80 degree temperatures!

^^ oh yes I love the Santa Ana's in winter but some people don't agree with me,They think I'm Weird,I mean Santa ana's in the Summer I can't stand but in the winter its cooled so the Santa Anas Heat it up to where it's comfortable which is like 75 Coast to 80's inland,Which is mild and very comfortable, and plus LA is Beautiful when the Santa Ana's blows b/c all the smog is just Blow out Here the difference. The is from the I.E. but the Santa Ana's really clear the Air.
Before a Regular smoggy Day:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bf/Smoggy_haze_in_the_Inland_Empire.JPG (broken link)
The Inland Empire is subject to smog conditions on a regular basis as seen here, looking south, from the north terminus of Haven Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga. Note how the street 'fades' into the smoggy haze and the Mountains are completely obscured.
During/After the Santa Ana's:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b3/Generally_clear_day_in_the_Inland_Empire.jpg (broken link)
The Inland Empire is also subject to Santa Ana's that lead to generally clear days, free of smog or the Marine Layer. Note how the street that 'faded' into the smoggy haze and the mountains that were completely obscured in the image to the left is now visible.

Here, too. It is almost never that smoggy where I live.

Umm...congratulations? I wasn't talking about anything but mountains- the guy I was responding to wasn't talking about anything but mountains, either.

Maybe it would be best to explain it this way...
The mountains in the L.A. area are tall enough that it can be below freezing on the higher peaks with several feet of snow and 90 degrees on the valley floor far below on the same day.
