The Midwest has fairly good barbeque with Kansas City and St. Louis, although their barbeque was brought up by migrants from Memphis. The South I think has the best barbecue though. Tennessee, Texas, and North Carolina are pretty tough to beat when it comes to barbeque.

Forget naming a region...I'll just go ahead and say that Texas by far has the best BBQ in the world (yes--in the world IMHO).

Texas has the best BBQ.

Memphis has the best pork and seasonings. Real BBQ is BEEF!

A couple of years ago the Food Network did a BBQ taste-off using Texas cowboys as the judges.

They fed them bbq from Kansas City, Memphis, North Carolina, and Texas.

The winner was MEMPHIS (and this was Texas cowboys who judged it). Kansas City BBQ came in last. I can't remember who came in 2nd.
