Is there anywhere in NJ that looks as nice as The Hamptons? I can't think of any.

This hamfisted, desperate attempt at a reply is hardly a comeback. You have shown yourself for who you are & what you know.

OK man...to you this may be me some game/competition, but some of us are here to voice our opinions and discuss them. Sorry if my opinion doesn't match yours...I don't care. This thread is LI vs. NNJ so how about you stop derailing it? If you want NYC vs. NNJ then start the thread. I doubt you will cause you already know the answer.

I can tell this is about as much of an admittance as I'm going to get from you, so sure.................... Why not? But honestly, you must be well versed before you make such bold claims in the future.

Cape May is nice and quaint, but so is Montauk and Shelter Island. I never really like the Hamptons.

But NYC does not have everything. NYC does not have sleepy suburbs. You cannot compare a largely suburban state (NJ) to NYC, the world's most famous metropolis, because they are different entities. Just like you can't compare Long island (again, largely suburban) with NYC. C'mon. It's not even up for comparison...the two are different things...NYC is not pretending to be suburban just like NJ is not pretending to be the urban capital of the world.

lamexican, but that is the same thing as saying "Chicago is far superior to the suburbs of Chicago". Of course there is more action and excitement in downtown Chicago versus the suburbs in Illinois...but they are different places, with different purposes. Just like LI and NJ cannot compete with NYC in terms of excitement and action. But you have to step out of your worlkd and realize that the reason people live in quiet places like NJ and LI are to ESCAPE the aforementioned excitement and action of NYC.
